Storybook Theater

For children 2 - 5 years of age.  This class concentrates on the concept of storytelling through acting, singing, costumes, theatrical movement and dance.  Ms Libby will guide the children through timeless stories like The Little Red Hen, Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, and The Hungry Caterpillar.  Learning to communicate and express feelings is tons of fun!

Monologues and Duo Class

Learn how to choose a monologue or scene that suits you. Discover how to analyze a scene, develop a dynamic character, connect to your audience, and gain confidence in yourself.

Participants in Little Starz are not required to audition.  Parents interested in having their child participate in Little Starz should watch this site for information about sign up and first rehearsal dates.

Auditions for CenterStage, UpStage and MainStage will consist of an audition that will last 5 to 7 minutes.  You will be expected to have prepared 16 bars (measures) of a song to sing. You will be asked to do a cold read from a script...usually a short scene read opposite a member of the MCCA staff. You may be asked to do some simple dance steps that will be shown to you by MCCA staff.

Auditions can be scary...let's face it: someone is judging us.  But MCCA auditions are part of the learning process.  In your audition, we can access your experience level.  We can access your strengths, and determine the type of role for which you are best suited.  Over time, as you gain experience, you will learn more about how to prepare for an audition, how to best present yourself and showcase your strengths.  We want you to be successful...and we are here to help make it happen!

For more information about audition dates, times, etc. see the Audition Information page.
